You’re able to open up the controller’s grips and choose between 10 grams, 14 grams or 16 grams. Change the right stick light for a custom look.Independently adjust the vibration intensity on the left and right hand grips.Adjust the sensitivity and dead-band of each trigger.Adjust the response curve of each stick.The NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller comes with four preset profiles which you’re free to change. They don’t call this a Pro controller for nothing. Turn the NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller over and you’ll see a Profile button, a wired/wireless switch, a PC/PS4 toggle, in-built headset and mic controls, four customisable shortcut buttons and internal weight compartments. The underside of the controller is where things start to get special. There’s enough space on the NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller that everything is set out really well.
Thankfully, unlike the Compact Controller, I never accidentally hit Share or Options. It’s not my preference, but I never had any issues with it. The D-Pad, like the Compact Controller’s, is one big button, rather than four individual ones. They feel a little different to press but I couldn’t really say whether it’s worse or better. The face buttons are a little large than on the DualShock 4 and are coated with a matte finish rather than the shine on a DualShock 4. The face of the controller is identical to a DualShock, aside from the offset sticks, and comes with all the buttons you’d expect. Thankfully, the accompanying software lets you adjust the response curve of each stick individually so you can customise them to your requirements. The sticks are responsive and feel smooth, though they do feel like they have less resistance than the DualShock’s which can make controls feel a bit floaty. I prefer concave stick heads, but if you’re an absolute psycho you can switch them out for convex. Additionally, the NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller comes with a range of interchangeable analogue stick heads. The stick layout is incredibly comfortable and will be familiar to most gamers. The NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller has offset sticks, like the Xbox One and Switch controllers and is likely to appeal to far more players. One point of contention with the DualShock 4 is its analogue stick placement. The DualShock 4 was a marked improvement over the much-maligned DualShock 3, but it’s still not without its detractors. Many adult players complain that Sony’s DualShocks are too small for their hands. Sharing more in common with the Xbox One controller, the size and shape of the NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller are certainly more Microsoft than Sony. Unlike the Compact Controller, the NACON REVOLUTION Unlimited Pro Controller is the same size as a DualShock 4.
